wildcard support for batch processing

Post by bugmenot »

I would like to use a wildcard for the input section.

For example, I want to convert all files in a folder but filenames may be different each time.

When you add a folder to Input, XnView adds the files in that folder:

I would like to do this (or something similar):

:) Hello !

• To convert all files of a directory, use the button [Add folder], then all files will be in the “Input” list.
- There is no need to type i.e. Path…\Folder\*.* doing so.

Yes I know that but I would have to do that every time I want to batch process some images.

What I want to do is create a batch processing script for the files in a folder, but the files may change names so I need a wildcard.

Hmm, there's no wildcards at the moment. But pressing "Ctrl+A" and then "Ctrl+U" might be a simple workaround to achieve your behaviour. (Ctrl+A selects all files and Ctrl+U will open Batch processing).

Sure. What about the suggested workaround? Is it applicable?

And perhaps even simpler:
When changing setting "Convert" in Tools > Options > General > Misc. to "Convert=Use all images in current folder" all image files will be used by default as long as no selection has been made by the user.
