Resize Dialog - Button to toggle grid visibility

I use the grid frequently when rotating images.

But just as frequently I forget to show the grid before showing the Rotate dialog. This means I have to close the dialog, show the grid, then restart the rotation dialog.

A button in the rotation dialog to toggle the grid would be great.

PS. In the mean time I'll just continue to use the edge of the rotation dialog.

• Indeed, in such a case the (added) tool-bar button can't be used, so I support !

• Whether the tool-bar as standalone (non-modal) could solve the issue ? Hm… Much later…

+1 This would improve usability a lot. Manual de-skewing gets more and more common and important. Showing/hiding the grid would make a lot of sense in the rotation dialog.

IMHO all the adjustment dialogs should be non-modal (but captive to the viewer, of course).

Another approach would be to allow multiple commands in the tool bar. Then I could sequence the grid dialog just before the rotate dialog...

In this case, for me this will be better to automatically show the grid if the "rotation dialog" is chosen, and automatically hide the grid after this function (maybe with an option to never show the grid during a rotation).

A simple checkbox would do the job - wouldn't it? (The state of the checkbox should be saved and restored using .ini file).

i read about this in the whatsnew.txt of v1.95.2 and was wondering, where the heck this grid appears?
neither with STRG+U, nor in the (lossles jpeg-transform) rotate-dialogue i found anything.

wher in xnview can i rotate an image and have a grid? 8-)

well, it took me about 20 minutes to find this dialogue!!
the reason: i never use this "viewer-" mode.
i'm only using "browser-" and "fullscreen-" mode.

so why is the a difference in the amount of functions/options anyway??

why is it, the viewer-mode has more options/functions than the fullscreen-mode? they both show imaged which need the same options/functions.

i do not understand, why the fullscreen-mode is so restrictive.
i need to use the fullscreen-mode, because of its "black" background and no useless toolbars.

can anyone please explain the sense of those two modes?

I guess in your case (intensive work in fullscreen), FastStone image viewer might be better and more effective than XnView. Perhaps you give FastStone a try. (Probably a bit surprising to read a recommendation for a competitive product).

It's the concept of XnView to have a browser mode, a view mode, and a fullscreen mode. But the fullscreen light mode is one mode too much and a real pain in the a... For all I know, in XnView MP the fullscreen light mode will disappear, there will be just one single fullscreen mode.

i'm using faststone since a long time, because it fills the holes xnview leaves. unfortunately it has other holes, which, of course, xnview fills :-)) also, i really like xnview for beeing so multi-talented.

this "pain in the a...." is really true, but you mentioned "xnview MP". i've searched the forum for "xnview mp", but did not find any result?
what is it? sounds good, if the light fullscreen mode disapears, but what will we have instead? and, the most important question, when will this (the release) ever happen? :-) please, point me to a thread, if.
