1.95: ICC lost/kept

Post by darrask »

in 1.95b2:

export

an adobeRGB TIFF to jp2: image displayed properly, color space probably kept.

save

an adobeRGB TIFF to jp2: image displayed properly, color space probably kept.

convert

an adobeRGB TIFF to jp2: image displayed falsely (like an adobeRGB interpreted as a sRGB) color space probably lost

I say "probably" because you can't see the ICC in the properties panel for jp2s.

So there is no way to keep the color profile while batch-converting?

Whoa... have you experimented with, say, adobeRGB TIFF to JPG?

Yes, currently the profile is applied at the loading, so can't be kept when saving the picture.

Oh, I get it. So pictures are not completely loaded when we do a conversion from the thumbnail viewer, it is only when we open and load them in the viewer that the profile can be used.

But I still don't get why XV 1.93.6kept the profile for conversion also... ( http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.p ... highlight= )

color space info lost

Post by darrask »

This is a new problem but the topic title would be exactly the same:

In 1.95.4, I have a TIFF which XV says it is in adobeRGB. If exported or saved as, the resulting images do not display the color space information anymore in the properties tab, although they keep the correct color space.

And if converted (Ctrl+U), well they truly lose their color space, but that we already know :|
