Kodak Photo CD (.pcd)

Post by fussy »

I'm new to XnView - was pointed to it as a viewer for my Photo CD images.

.pcd files contain images of 5 resolutions. So far I've been able to view only the 768x512 resolution (middle level of the 5?). Is there a way to get XnView to display the other resolutions? (I'm especially interested in viewing the highest resolution)

Go to Option -> Read -> PhotoCD

But, unfortunately, I think only 3 resolutions are available. I don't know how PCD image works, but, if there are other resolutions, Pierre should know about it and should add support for them.

It can??? Oh! XnView for Windows is much better!!!! Linux version only reads 3 formats:
  • Base (768x512)
  • Base/4 (384x256)
  • Base/16 (192x128)
I don't remember the Windows version options. I never used a PCD and I rarely use Windows. Could you post here the available formats for Windows?

I use the v1.66 for WinXP of XnView. There just 3 sizes to open a Kodak PhotoCD (192x128, 384x256 and 768x512). If I use PhotoShop7 I can select between 6 sizes (64x96, 128x192, 256x384, 512x768, 1024x1536 and 2048x3072) I'm very interested to open files in the 2 larger sizes. /peter

Do you have the pcdlib32.dll file in plugin folder? (See folder <installdir>\plugins or XnView menu "Info->Plugin information")
