How to copy categories when doing a massive copy

Hi,

I want to move all my pictures to an external drive & keep the xn view categories. How to do this?

When I drag & drop or copy & paste via the xnview menu the files inside a given directory it works automatically: categories are copied together with the files.
When I copy an entire directory it doesn't work: directory is copied, files are copies but not the categories.

I would like to copy my complete photo directories (thousands of files) and avoid to have to copy the categories "file by file"

I tried different things but couldn't sort it out

You can't.
There was a request to copy categories into IPTC tags, but not implemented yet. Maybe if more ppl find it useful...

I have an external drive that I synch with an internal one. It's a question of setting the options to have all db files moved/copied, I think.
