The images of Mars at the Malin site are really incredible. Many are very large gifs. Here is an example of one that XnView fails to view.
WARNING: This is an extremely large file (8.5 megabytes).

XNView reports "GIF : Bad picture's size!"
My other image viewers have no problem with the image.

I can confirm this bug or limitation.
XnView v1.70.4 - Doesn't open it in View Mode instead there is an error, in Browser Mode it launches IrfanView instead which is kinda funny.
IrfanView v3.91 - Works just fine
PhotoFiltre v6.0 - Works just fine, a little slow but I think the res needs lots of memory for it.
Serif PhotoPlus v6.0 - Works just fine, again a little delay in opening.
PCMag FileSnoop v1.1 - Lockups with 100% CPU usage
Mozilla Firefox 0.9.1 - Works just fine.
Update: converting the GIF (8.4Mb) to a PNG (6.9Mb) fixes the problem nicely. I also noticed that, that GIF has no thumbnail in Browser Mode in XnView.
