DPI changed after creating a multipage TIFF

Why is dpi set to 72dpi when the original files were 300dpi? Why XnView changes it?

In jpeg, you can have 3 fields to set dpi.
Do you option/general>use exif dpi...

The source files are TIFF.

Okay. I have marked that option. I see it's working now, at least when adding JPEG and PNG files.

PS - I am wondering why that option is disabled by default.
