Cineon conversion

If I use Xnview to export a file in cineon format (.cin, .dpx) in a standard format like TIFF, is there any quality loss?
If so, what can I do in order to avoid it?

The cineon file has more than 8bits per component?

yes, ten bit per component but it is log scale....

XnView convert always picture in 8bits
