Degas PI1

Post by pea »

Hello.

I used to use xnview regularly on my old laptop to get mt ST graphics to the PC.

Installed latest version on my new pc along with all extensions & shell but it will not see any of the Degas format files, when I try to load them it says "Format of the file XXX could not be determined"...

Am I being a complete tool? I don't remember having to do anything special before to use Degas files...

pls help!

Degas Elite PI1 format
Thanks, I looked at shw's post of AF & several others.

This version I d/l from the site does not correspond to this info. I have used several versions of xnview before & not had this problem.

Here are some screen shots of what I can see:

I might be having a really bad day (it feels like it) but I cannot see a mention of degas anywhere...

I installed XnView-win-full.exe, a ~12mb file

Hope you can help, ta

The name of the option has been changed to:
General>Operations>[x]Display all image file types
(I see pi1 thru pi6 in list)

I checked with a friend - he had many more in his lists than I had.

I took the .ini file from his older version & now it works. Maybe something is b0rked in that latest install? Maybe something just went wrong? Either way, I can now use .PI1 files on my new PC which is the best reason to own xnview for an ST kid like me :D

Thanks for your time.

I used an Atari 800 for games. Never got the chance to play with an ST. Good luck with the images.

well i've installed it on a brand new laptop and the PI1 file types no longer exist :(

I'm sure this must be a problem in the latest version.

Do you have enabled option/General>Display all formats?

Yes :(

THe only way I've managed to get it working is using an old INI file from my old Desktop

Strange, it's the setting that enable degas loading...

Perhaps the .ini file was read-only. Just a guess...
