Creation of high quality thumbnail images

Post by PSHRutPark »

Hello Pierre et al,

I routinely use the web page creation function of XnView and very much appreciate the quality of the thumbnail images that are produced.

I have been trying to create the equivalent thumbnails (to the web page creation function) using the XnView batch function. Unfortunately the quality has not been as good as the "web page create" output.

Therefore, I would like to know what steps are performed to create the high quality "web" thumbnails, especially the sharpening process.

Thanks

PETER

It's only a resize + sharpen (if used)

OK. Thanks Pierre.

Yes, I use the sharpening option.

For the resizing, what type of "resampling" do you use?

Thanks for your replies.

Maybe the resampling mode accounts for the difference. I will try bilinear.
