Thank for your reply - do you think I should take the program off and try installing it again.

If you have the problem in windows explorer, i think that the problem comes from the CDrom

Also you can scan a burnt media for read errors and be confident about the readibility of your fresh backup.

i had the same problem,

and i solved by this way:

open an image (so the broweser in the xnview wont open ), then go to "tools/option/general" and choose a default folder in "the launch folder at startup" .

then restart xnview
