Screen Capture Shortcut

Post by irneb »

I know the topic: http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.p ... en+capture lists this as something to be done still (since 2006). However I'm used to ACDSee's way of pressing Alt+T+C. XnView works halfway with this, I need to press Alt+T+C+Enter to get the Screen Capture dialog opened. Is there any way to get the menu shortcuts (underlined letters) to perform correctly?

This problem seems to be prevalent wherever there's 2 options in the same menu starting with the same letter. E.g. in the Tools menu there's Capture screen... and Change timestamp... Usually in the IDE you'd place an ampersand {&} before the letter you'd like as the menu shortcut key. In this way it's possible to have say "&Capture Screen..." and "Change &timestamp...", so the C would be capture's shortcut while T would be for timestamp.

While that should be quite easy to fix, I do think the above-linked shortcuts list is the way to actually go from present. Maybe a more "comprehensive" idea would be to allow the user to setup customized shortcuts in the Options dialog. I just think that would be a lot more to program :P
