preview SketchUp (.skp) files

Post by brookefox »

Browser works fine as far as thumbs go; not so for the preview. This is a common prob, apparently, with viewer/browsers and these files. I was just wondering if anyone had some further info or help or how-to's on it. Thanks.

Trying, but I can't find the file attachment / upload applet.
You must copy XMrSid.dll in the Plugins folder of XnView
Working on it. --> Unzipped above in plugins directory, restarted, but it does not show under tools>plugins and right click use is not clear to me.

Please advise on how to upload files.

Thank you.

Now I am getting a preview but it is only thumbsized. Forcing the image larger shows it is a thumb, in fact, as it is degraded accordingly.

Info » Plug-Ins Information shows you a list of the installed file format plug-ins.

There are two tabs below the text field for composing messages: Options and Upload attachment.

The native file formats of programs like SketchUp or CorelDRAW are proprietary. XnView can only read the preview thumbnails embedded in these kinds of files. It can't open (import) the 3D/vector data.

OK. Thank you.

I have a single 'options' tab below 'save' 'preview' 'submit'.

Thanks for the links.

Maybe this feature is disabled for new users :?

FYI: You can always use a free hosting service like MediaFire or WikiFortio for sharing files.

Yes, I know. I wanted to figure out our differences, though. And it is moot, now, since I understand the only preview available is of thumbs.

Thanks for your help.
