Sorry my poor english too!

I have the same problem with a lot of versions of xnview and Quicktime (And QtPro) I only want to notice that if you disable the video accelerations (at Quicktime preferences->Video preferences), then the xnview not crash...

Thanks!

Kepa.
Bonjour Pierre and everyone...!
XnView would crash when I attempt to play a .MOV video file. On rare occasion a .MOV file would play but once it started to crash on one, it would always crash on any. Some specifics: All the .MOV were from a KODAK z612 digital camera. I run the video files on my year-old laptop using ATI Mobility Fire GL 5700. The .MOV files would play properly when run using Quicktime player ver7.6.5. I'm (still) using Win XP SP3 for the moment. I updated XNView from 1.96(i think) to 1.97.4 today and crossed my fingers... but unchanged issue. Playing with various settings within XnView did not improve.

 I found this forum and did a Search and Voila! As stated by Kepa (back in 2008 even), CHANGING THE SETTING in QUICKTIME FIXED this issue! Happy I am, so I registered to post this post.

This is the working setting:

Edit > Preferences > Quicktime Preferences... > Advanced > Video:
[ ] Safe Mode (GDI Only)
[x] DirectX
[ ] Enable Direct Draw acceleration
[ ] Enable Direct Draw on secondary monitors
[x] Enable Direct3D video acceleration

Rick :D
