change default toolbar

I'm exploring this really useful looking program and have a query about customizing it to my use: how can I change the default toolbar?

> Tools > Options > Interface > Toolbar & from there I can delete or move icons. Bot I can't find a way to save the settings and it defaults back to Default toolbar when I close the pref. panel. I've seen screenshots posted re. other toolbar queries which have Load and Save buttons. These aren't present in the Vs. I'm using - 1.97.8.

Any help would be very welcome,

And APPEND buttons ...
Press APPEND - a placeholder will be added - select a command from the dropdown-list which will replace the placeholder. Use the > and < Buttons to move the icons..

Thanks Peter, that's a new feature for me. But this one too doesn't 'stick' - there's no button to Save the changes and closing the panel defaults the Toolbar back to the Default as before.

Attention: Above the icons there are three buttons "Basic / View / Browser". Therefore you have to be careful which button is active and which toolbar will be edited ...
