Now Exiftool in its original (?! - perhaps slightly tweaked) state is the EXIF/IPTC "engine" behind XnViewMP. Just an observation. I'm personally more partial to Andreas Huggel's
EXIV2, but I suppose there were something on the order of 57 ways to adapt the former to Pierre's uses -- or he was more familiar with Perl as a language -- so he chose that one.
Also, for XP, there's a freeware 3d-party add-on* for Windows Explorer that adds a new tab, "EXIF Tags", to the Properties window when graphics files containing EXIF data are selected. The link to this add-on, and information about it, is here:
