Ctrl is used to open an experimental batch convert as a tab.... So yes, if you use the shortcut, you have a tab... Perhaps it's better to use another key like shiftPierre.

I am the one who originally requested the tabbed Batch convert, and I really like it!
However, tab should not be the default mode for Batch (or at least not yet!)... so, [Shift]+"U" has my support.
(Or any other convenient/available hotkey.)
