In the test folder (5 jpg), could you add a NEF file?

I did. Works OK now. To be honest, after changing to "embedded thumbnail" it immediately started to be fluent. Great, thank you.
What about the ICC, is it necessary to change it somehow?

What was the problem, why it worked for D3100, D90 etc. and not for D7000 without "embedded thumbnail"? I do not know what is the default setting, but perhaps it would be good to set "embedded thumbnail" as default (if it is not)

No

Actually, not. It works perfectly fluent even in my (problematic) folder, does not matter whether the next image is Jpeg, or NEF, it makes no difference in speed - perfectly OK. However, I now noticed that the colours are visibly different when I see the image in xnview and when I see the same image in win.photo viewer. In xnview both jpeg and NEF look almost completely same (in terms of colour). In Win.photo viewer the jpeg is more colourful. I'm not good in this, but I assume this has something to do with the adoberRGB, vs sRGB setting? Is tere a way how to change it, how to see the colour difference between jpeg and NEF in xnview?
