Hi,
I have been using XnView to rate my shots for several years, using the numeric keypad shortcuts in fullscreen mode. Yesterday, for some reason I can't work out, this stopped working. I can still use the hotkeys in browser mode, so my laptop is OK, but they have no effect in fullscreen mode. I've obviously changed some setting accidentally, but I can't find what.
Please help ASAP. I am on a photo trip to Iceland and this is really going to cause me problems.
Thanks
Andrew

Re: HELP! Fullscreen ratings have stopped working
Some quick things to try:
- Is <Num Lock> on?
- Rename settings file so that program returns to defaults.
- Which fullscreen is being used? It works here using browser + <F11>. Not in viewer/editor's fullscreen.
- Options... General>Keyboard/mouse>Switching modes>[___Browser<>Fullscreen | Viewer<>Fullscreen>___] (this uses browser's fullscreen when starting from thumbnails).

Re: HELP! Fullscreen ratings have stopped working
Hi, thanks for the suggestions:
Is there any way to tell which fullscreen I'm in?
Thanks
Andrew
Yes, I think so - it's a bit complicated on my laptop but rating works fine in the browser.marsh wrote:Is <Num Lock> on?
I'm not keen to do this unless everything else fails as I have a lot of customisations on e.g. the custom applications list. Do we know which sections might affect the rating behaviour?marsh wrote:Rename settings file so that program returns to defaults.
I think it's the browser one. I only ever get there by pressing F11 from the borwser. Is there any way to accidentally get to the other one from the browser?marsh wrote:Which fullscreen is being used?

Re: HELP! Fullscreen ratings have stopped working
Hi,
I seem to have fixed this by restoring xnview.ini from a backup. The only difference which might have had an effect is that in the "corrupt" file there's a value ENTER=1 in the [Start] section instead of 0. Could this change fullscreen mode?
Thanks
Andrew

Re: HELP! Fullscreen ratings have stopped working
Changing that item makes shortcut work in viewer & its fullscreen here also. That is confusing.andrewj wrote:Hi,

Fullscreen (browser) has no area selection and it navigates differently. It skips images with mouse wheel without waiting for them to display.andrewj wrote: Is there any way to tell which fullscreen I'm in?
Re: HELP! Fullscreen ratings have stopped working
Thanks Marsh. If I've understood properly then you can somehow accidentally switch into a mode which disables the shortcuts in fullscreen mode, and have no way of telling you've done it or how to put it back. That's terrible design and has wasted a lot of my time. It would be good if Pierre could get rid of this in the next version.

Yes, you name it: "terrible design".
