Hi,

I may be missing something, but it would be nice if I could set color for "transparent background" - now it seems to be some kind of grey (or checkerboard) hardwired?

Thanks,
Majkl

Thanks for your interest.
I'v read these now. But sorry, I still can not get it. Is there any option to change the (color of) transparent background, or not? I can not find it. And no, editing checkerboard colors in INI is not usable way for very most cases (including my one, when I have many transparent images and I need to find suitable background color for their viewing).

Thanks once more, Michal

Hello Michal :-)

In XnViewMP beta 0.30 you can activate/disable and customize the checkerboard pattern via the Settings dialog.
For changing the color and size values in XnView v1.97 you need to edit the INI file either by hand...

Method A:
  1. Go to Tools » Options... » View » View.
  2. Deactivate Use checkerboard pattern as background.
  3. Set Background colour to white.
Method B:
  1. Go to Tools » Options... » View » View.
  2. Activate Use checkerboard pattern as background.
  3. Quit XnView.
  4. Open the file xnview.ini in Notepad and look for the [View] section.
  5. Add the following lines to the [View] section:

    Code: Select all

    CheckerColor1=16777215
    CheckerColor2=16777215

  6. Save xnview.ini and restart XnView.
... or with the help of ckv's XnView Tweak UI.

Are you looking for something like a dominant/average color?
