How to save the setup?

Post by mulanee »

Hello,
My parameters are not saved after exiting.
For example by changing the action of the mouse roll.
I tried by changing the .ini location without success.
How to do?
Thank you.

Here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\XnViewMP

But this is a system file so I cannot modify it through notepad.
As administrator the behaviour of xnview MP is the awaited one, but not as simple user

Are you changing the settings using Tools > Options... or by editing the .ini file directly ?

Using Tools/options/integration/path (something like that, i cannot change the language from french..)

As simple user I cannot edit/save the .ini file
I could probably do it running notepad as admin but I don't know the setup numbers to change

Why don't you change settings directly using Tools > Options... > General -- Keyboard/Mouse ?

Could you possibly have installed XnView Classic in an admin account and used an option to make the program available in your user account? I don't use Windows much now, but think I saw an option for that once.

That might provide an explanation if that option does exist...

In the absence of other ideas, if you might have originally installed it in an admin account, you could try installing XnView Classic in your user account.

Xnview Classic is working well.
A very common problem, but fortunately slowly reducing as 'MP becomes more dominant.

I suggested that the solution might actually be to rename both software, for example to 'XnClassic' and 'XnUltra' so that people would be clearer which they were using!

If you might have installed it in an admin account you could, in the absence of a better idea, try installing it in your user account.
