Assume I open an image with XnView.
I drag the XnView window to another position on the screen.
Then I close XnView and re-open the same image afterwards.
Unfortunately XnView appears again centered on the screen and NOT at the previous position.
How can I tell XnView to remember the opening position (upper left corner) on the screen beyond exit?

Re: How to get XnView remember position on screen?
You can tell XnView to Remember last window position/size and to Use different position/size for brwoser & view in Tools → Options… → Interface → Interface.

Does not help.
I have both options enabled (checked) and XnView still opens always at a centered position

- What's your configuration for Auto Image Size in Tools → Options… → View → View?
- Is Force XnView to Fit Image in Tools → Options… → View → View activated?
- Is Reset X/Y in Tools → Options… → View → View activated?
- Have you tried running XnView with elevated privileges (i.e. as administrator) to change the settings?

1.) "Fit window to image"
2.) Yes, enabled
3.) No, not enabled
4.) XnView is running under a user which is member of the Administrator Group

OK, this is a known issue:
Xyzzy wrote: Tue Jan 24, 2006 3:28 pmFit window to image - (only windowed View) View window is resized to size of the image. If image is bigger than XnView window, it is displayed in window maximized in XnView workspace.
[…]
Force XnView to fit Image - (This option is active only if 'Auto Image Size' is set to 'Fit window to image'.) On image display in View window, resize XnView window so that it fits displayed image. Window is centered on screen. If image is bigger than display, XnView window is maximized.
Reset X/Y - (This option is active only if 'Auto Image size' is set to 'Fit image to window width' or 'Fit image to window heightwidth'.) If checked, in windowed View, top left corner of image is aligned with top left corner of window, instead of being centered.

- Center window in the screen as implemented today doesn't make sense.
- People should be able to select "Keep center of window"(default) or "Keep top-left corner".
- When window becomes too large to keep center/corner, XnView moves the window as needed... (but keeps original X/Y values -> a small image wouldn't be centered in the screen but would revert back to the original position/setting).
