"High Zoom Quality" in fullscreen?

Post by Jackie »

Hi,

is it possible to activate "High Zoom Quality" in fullscreen mode? On my system, I get ugly pixelinterpolations in fullscreen, whereas the option works fine for windowed mode. Is there a trick how to enable "High Zoom Quality" in fullscreen?

Btw, can I tell XNview always to open pictures in real fullscreenmode (i.e. no captions, bars, etc.) rather than windowed mode when I press enter?

cu,

Jackie

Do you have option/View/Zoom - Enlarge?

Take a look at option/general/Switch mode

Pierre: remember that it doesn't work in 1.82 with Fullscreen lite, as we saw there...

Hi,

what does fullscreen lite mean? It doesn't work for me with fullscreen when I enlarge pictures, you can clearly see it does not work.

Btw, I get the following error message when I start XNView:

"ncsecw.dll component not found" (or similar, it's in german language for me). What can I do to fix?

Thank you,

Jackie

It might be some error on you .ini file.

Go to the XnView folder, locate xnview.ini and rename it.

Restart XnView and see if you still have that error.

Don't forget renaming the .ini file will reset you preferences. ;)

:) Hello !

- As far as I can see from "ScanBin", XnView doesn't call that DLL, as well as a direct call (13 are called) as an indirect call (6 are called).

Moreover, it doesn't exist here in my PC under Xp-Pro, and I've not your problem !

Your picture is viewed larger than screen?

So remove Xecw.dll

Well... I tried with all HQ enabled (HQ Enlarge and all) and a small image is just pixelized when enlarged in Browser fullscreen (Zoom >100% +image smaller than screen)... :(

Yes, right, but a large picture in 'fit large' for example, use the HQ.
Currently there is no HQ in enlarge zoom.

Does not work for me either, as mentioned here: http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?t=5095

I can see a clear difference between viewer and fullscreen mode.

Hum, could you send me a example, screen resolution used?

Sure. Take a look at this one for example:

In fullscreen mode the letters look all scrambled while in the viewer they're smoothed out. Dektop resolution is 1280x960.

I have no problem with it. So, how do you start the fullscreen? F11?
Do you have option/View/Zoom quality/Reduce?
Pierre.
