Can I switch thumbnail/cache update to manually?

I have a folder of about 3000-4000 pictures. When I am finished editing a picture I move it to another folder. XnView notices that there is one pic missing and starts updating the thumbnails or the cache: the progress bar in the bottom right starts from the beginning, the CPU load goes up and the co...

Re: Pipe character can't be used in information display

...now that you said it I searched again and found an old thread from 2006 where something like this is mentioned.
Seems not easy to fix, so I switched to the symbol that was suggested in that thread (Alt+0166) which is ok for me.

Re: Pipe character can't be used in information display

Is anyone else seeing this or is this a local problem on my system?

Pipe character can't be used in information display

In "Options > View > Fullscreen > Show Information" you can set the display in fullscreen. I want to display the fields in a single line with pipes as separator, so I entered <Filename> | <Exposure Time> s | f<F-Number> | ISO <ISO Value> This displays correctly right after checking the changes in fu...

Re: Crash in 1.98!!!

I just installed XnView (full version) but doesn't have a paintnetlib.dll there.
The only thing I unchecked during installation is the "Nero CD Burning".

Re: ESC key for closing fullscreen view

Although this turned out to be offtopic regarding XnView, let me specify this just in case someone else stumbles upon this (might be the case because it's a photo/graphics thing): This is a Photoshop CS4 issue and since I use XnView along with Photoshop I often experience that. There are long thread...

Re: ESC key for closing fullscreen view

Another interesting finding regarding this issue: I played around with every combination of the settings "Enable navigation with left and right mouse buttons" and "Language" (which I switched between English and German). I did this before but this had no effect. I just did it again and additionally ...

Re: ESC key for closing fullscreen view

And how do you do that, "returning from viewer to browser via ESC" (since that is what my question was about)?

ESC key for closing fullscreen view

I'm used to show an image in fullcreen by clicking with the middle mouse button and returning to the previous view by pressing Escape. For whatever reason that doesn't work anymore and I always have to click the middle mouse button again to leave the fullscreen mode. I can't remember that I changed ...

Re: .ABR format support

Highly seconded. The current read support is a nice beginning but clicking through the frames doesn't give the needed overview. So a real browsing support would be a great step forwards. btw.: There seems to be a bug in the brushes display: compared to what e.g. abrviewer displays, XnView shows the ...

Pierre, do you see a chance for implementing something like this in a future version?

Re: Extend thumbnail cache to multiple sizes for the same folder

Thanks for listing the relevant threads, XnTriq!
As far as I can see, Pierre never commented one of the "different thumbnail sizes in cache"-requests.

Re: Extend thumbnail cache to multiple sizes for the same folder

Nobody said "infinite thumbs". The amount of caching would depend on how much different thumbnail sizes you use. If you prefer a certain size, nothing would change for you. For all the others this would be a huge speedup.
