Re: Unsharp fonts in MP
Kdenlive uses Qt 5.15.9 in the moment (program version 23.04.1). Later this year they plan to upgrade to Qt6.

Re: Unsharp fonts in MP
Small addition: just checked Kdenlive (also Qt): Looks different to the windows app but better than XnView. Maybe due to a different font size?

Re: Unsharp fonts in MP
Yes, Windows 10, no font scaling, but my guess is that having ClearType disabled may be the cause.
Applications that use Qt seem to have a problem with that (I have experienced similar with the video editor Kdenlive).
Activating ClearType makes everything blurry IMO and having it disabled is ...

Unsharp fonts in MP
Hi,
when I compare XnView Classic and MP I found that the fonts in MP look distorted. Check for example the character B and the vertical parts of H:
XnView Classic XnView MP Is there a setting to get the sharp fonts back like in the Classic version?

Re: Creating thumbnail cache of multiple folders in one go
Ah, I didn't expect this feature to take subdirectories into account.
Worked like a charm, thank you!

Creating thumbnail cache of multiple folders in one go
I have a photos-folder with a lot of subfolders.
Now I'd like to create the thumbnail cache without the need of clicking on each folder and waiting until the creation process for that folder is finished.
What I did: while being on the main photo folder I activated the option "View > Show files in ...

Renaming folder uppercase / lowercase in folder tree pane
Small bug: when you try renaming a folder in the folder tree pane and the only thing that you change is the case of one of more letters, this is ignored.
Example: folder named "Test" can't be renamed to "test" or "TEST" or "tesT".
Works fine in the main window, only the folder tree pane seems to be ...

Can I switch thumbnail/cache update to manually?
I have a folder of about 3000-4000 pictures.
When I am finished editing a picture I move it to another folder.
XnView notices that there is one pic missing and starts updating the thumbnails or the cache: the progress bar in the bottom right starts from the beginning, the CPU load goes up and the ...

Re: Pipe character can't be used in information display
...now that you said it I searched again and found an old thread from 2006 where something like this is mentioned.
Seems not easy to fix, so I switched to the symbol that was suggested in that thread (Alt+0166) which is ok for me.

Pipe character can't be used in information display
In "Options > View > Fullscreen > Show Information" you can set the display in fullscreen.

<Filename> | <Exposure Time> s | f<F-Number> | ISO <ISO Value>

I just installed XnView (full version) but doesn't have a paintnetlib.dll there.
The only thing I unchecked during installation is the "Nero CD Burning".

Re: ESC key for closing fullscreen view
Although this turned out to be offtopic regarding XnView, let me specify this just in case someone else stumbles upon this (might be the case because it's a photo/graphics thing):
This is a Photoshop CS4 issue and since I use XnView along with Photoshop I often experience that.
