Re: Switching modes selection

there is another setting responsible for opening mode:
set "Start with file" to "Browser - Fullscreen" (Settings > General > Startup)

with these 2 settings the only one way to get into Viewer mode - Open command
if you have any issues - use latest version and delete your settings file (xnview ...

Switching modes selection

In settings/interface/switching modes I have everything set to Browser<->Fullscreen. When I double click on an image file in explorer XNView MP displays the image at full screen. However, when I double click (or press enter) it displays the image with the application interface (toolbar) (not sure ...

Re: Image quality in shrink to fit screen

I enabled it and restarted but it doesn't change anything. My resolution is 1920x1200 so I don't think it's particularly high and that it applies to my screen. In any case I tried it and it didn't help.
I even tried changing the algorithm in high zoom quality and restarting between the changes but ...

Re: Image quality in shrink to fit screen

@8bit: What you're describing is a Windows DPI/scaling issue.
Hi, thanks for you help but I don't think so.

Are you using any DPI/scaling settings in Windows? (Check under your system settings.)
No

In your application? (XnViewMP has a "HiDPI" zoom option.)
No, that is off. I only use the ...

Re: Image quality in shrink to fit screen

I have it, i don't have ACD, but perhaps it has a sharpen option??

No, there's no option. I'm actually using a very old version because it has become so bloated that I don't want to deal with the newer versions.

When you change the "high zoom quality" algorithm does it make any difference to ...

Re: Image quality in shrink to fit screen

Hi, the image is the one I have posted above. I don't really think it has to do with a specific image. I tried with a couple more and got the same results.
I put the image on postimage because it's too large to attach here.

Re: Image quality in shrink to fit screen

This is the image but it doesn't really matter. This is not tied to a specific image. I haven't changed any settings on the app except as I said Tools/Settings/View/High zoom quality which doesn't seem to change anything.

The issue is that the image is very wide and has to be zoomed out in order ...

Re: Image quality in shrink to fit screen

Hi cday, thanks for your help.
I assume Tools/Settings/View/High zoom quality is the setting I'm looking for. I tried all settings but they don't have the slightest difference. I literally checked pixel for pixel at 400% magnification and they all produce exactly the same result. I've set the first ...

Image quality in shrink to fit screen

I've been using ACDSee for many years but as it has become extremely bloated these days (still use an old version because of that) I'm looking for alternatives. XNViewMP seems like the best one I've tried. However I did encounter an issue with how images that are larger than the screen are shrinked ...
