Re: Help on Catalog and thumbnail caching - privacy
should I enable thumbnail caching, or not?
if not, what is the effect with regards to the speed of XnViewMP? (Does it matter?)
Personally, I always disable thumbnail caching, in every program and OS, so it wont take up space (and, on SSD/flash memory, to avoid frequent instances of writing to it ...

Re: Rotate buttons - greyed out - how come?
Okay thanks. No problem. Will use Directory Opus to rotate those images.
BTW: I can open the XnViewMP browser, rotate there (seems okay in the browser), double click the file, to get back into the viewer and click on save. Can't find a save button in the browser.

Re: Help on Catalog and thumbnail caching - privacy
As the title of this thread says, from privacy point of view:
- why are they listed?
- how to avoid it?
and
should I enable thumbnail caching, or not?
if not, what is the effect with regards to the speed of XnViewMP? (Does it matter?)
Thanks.

Help on Catalog and thumbnail caching - privacy
Up front: I use XnViewMP more or less as it is: as a viewer.
So, I am not an expert.
I am looking for 'Help' on Tools > Settings > Catalog and Tools > Settings > Catalog > Enable Thumbnail Caching.
Where can I find it?
For what is it used?
What is being stored?

Re: Install-Error-Code 740 (?)
This is on Windows 10 x64 19045.3208 (AFAIK the latest built).
This is the first time that I selected 'Run XnViewMP' immy after the install. Normally I leave that option remains deselected, as well as the option 'Visit website', i.e. both deselected and [Finish].
Regret I can't tell about ...

Install-Error-Code 740 (?)
After installing and selecting run XnViewMP - I got a Error "Code 740"
Tried it twice, same error.
Maybe something to do with admin. rights?
Help about shows the right (updated) version though.

Re: How to get the 'Google format' GPS coordinates from the EXIF properties?
Thanks.
Within Tools, I am afraid I don't have no Metadata>Edit, etc.
So far I r-clicked on the photo, properties, then selected EXIFTools
BUT...
I just 'discovered' under Tools > Open GPS location in > Google Maps.
It then shows the 'Google format' !
Great !!
I wasn't aware of it.

How to get the 'Google format' GPS coordinates from the EXIF properties?
At best I can extract GPS location like "52 deg 9' 16.70" N, 15 deg 23' 13.49" E
I would like to get the 'Google format' like: 12.345678, 12.345678
When pasting the 1st coordinates, Google returns that it can't find it.
If it is not possible right now, maybe as a new feature, to add an option ...

Re: How to copy paste into an email message?
THANKS for the tip!
I see, I should use ctrl-shift-C (Copy image content)
As for just quickly 'View' an image, so far I used another viewer.
In the other viewer, ctrl-a/ctrl-c worked as ctrl-shift-c in XnViewMP.
Anyway, thanks again!

How to copy paste into an email message?
Right now, after ctrl-A / ctrl-C from within XnViewMP,
when pasting into Outlook, it will show as an attachment, not into the message body.
How to have the image pasted into the message body, i.e.as a picture between text?
Probably there is something in settings, but, frankly, I don't know.
Thanks!

@identitydubai
I know... I know,
this is an extremely late reply...
Every now and then I was looking for the context menu solution.
Didn't know why it did not work, but assumed it would work in some next release.
Then I found your post.
Anyway, thanks!! for the your solution.
Really super.
