When the same filename is found, the overwrite dialog prompt is missing several important things, namely:
* filesize of each file
* filename of each file
* estimated quality of each file
Not sure if this is a Linux only thing or not.

[Linux] consistent crash when quickly browsing big files
XnViewMP 0.82 (x86_64) is consistently crashing when browsing (in View mode) a bunch of big jpeg files and pressing the ESC key while it's still reading files (from its queue, on the fly).
Here is what I do to reproduce it:
* open a directory with a bunch of files
* start rolling mouse wheel very ...

Re: [Linux] Export window's position & size and not saved
Do you mean you don't get these errors at all on your side? I'm running a Ubuntu 14.04.1 based distro.
I tried with KDE and XFCE, the window is positioned "properly" at 0,0 by default, but it definitely doesn't retain size and position after closing it (it's always reset).
Only in i3wm did I have ...

Re: [Linux] Export window's position & size and not saved
I found a possible workaround thanks for the awesome i3 window manager (i3wm). In the i3 config file:
for_window [title="Export"] move absolute position 0 px 0 px, resize set 700 700
This will effectively position it at position 0,0 and not 80,20 as it seems to be the default value in XnView ...

Linux: Export window's position & size and not saved
Whenever I use the Export feature, its dialog popup floating window is placed always at the same position and with the same size all the time.
After I move the floating window around a bit and resize it, these values are never saved properly.
After closing this floating window and clicking Export ...

Re: Linux: Unable to delete directories
Sorry for late reply (didn't even get notified).
No I don't have gvfs-trash.
I have to point out that files are not moved to trash properly either, they are simply deleted permanently.

Linux: Unable to delete directories
I'm unable to delete directories, even empty ones, in the browser mode.
Clicking the red X icon doesn't work, right clicking and selecting either, pressing DEL either.
I do see the confirmation dialog, but nothing else happens afterwards.
SPECS: Linux Mint 17.3 with KDE4.

Re: disable reading all files meta data in browser mode
If disabling reading most meta data would speed up XnView, I think that would be a good option to have.
Browsing a lot of files tends to make the program lag a lot in some cases.

Re: Add auto playing sound file on batch completion
On second thought, if you don't want to bother including sound libraries (understandably) here is an even better idea :
Add a "run custom command". That way, users can invoke their own scripts through the shell, including playing a sound file with "paplay" on Linux for example. :D

Add auto playing sound file on batch completion
Would be nice to have the option to automatically play a custom sound file once a batch has completed.

Add in-place compare to export dialog!
For me XnviewMP is supposed to replace RIOT which only runs on Windows (it runs poorly in WINE on Linux).
One excellent feature is this compare in-place where you hold the button down as long as you want in order to compare differences between original and tweaked picture.
Please consider adding ...

How to remove default presets?
Is there even a way to delete the default presets?
For instance, in the resize dialog box, how come the delete button is greyed out for them?
Can you avoid hardcoding them in future releases and use them as regular *.xbs files so that we can remove these cluttering items please?

Additional secondary shortcuts!
Would it be possible (and worth it?) to have additional secondary shortcuts for everything?
Here is a mock up example I made.

As an example, "mcomix" has up to 4 possible shortcuts for everything!

I agree! I was looking for that option too, sadly it's hard coded to only 1 file read ahead.
Please consider it P-E!

Display JPEG quality / compression level in info box
Irfanview has a very neat feature: it can display lots of information about a JPG file very fast:
The JPEG quality is very hard to find in XnviewMP, only displayed in a cluttered property box and only in Browser mode .
It would be really good to have these details accessible through the ...
