Re: Converting PNG to GIF

XnView should keep the transparency If the PNG uses palette transparency, but if the PNG uses alpha transparency, then XnView cannot keep the transparency when converting to GIF, because GIF format doesn't support alpha transparency.

Re: Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird (opensource freeware)

Not so surprisingly serval OOPP issues were found after the beta was released and the final release may be delayed. This is good news... but for me the biggest FireFox problem is memory usage. Man, what a hog. Must agree with this one. And it looks like it's not going to get better any soon. As Mozi...

Re: Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird (opensource freeware)

Mozilla will sidestep from it's regular updating scheme and will introduce a new major feature, out of process plugins, in Firefox 3.6.4. Out of process plugins is an transparent, stability and security feature in Firefox. Basically plugins will run in their own process so that when some third party...

Re: Great program! One Question....

Maybe you have the 'Always on Top' option enabled in your settings.

To check this, goto: Tools->Options->Interface. And check that 'Always on Top' checkbox is not selected.

Re: Batch Rename ###########

Am I doing something wrong or is the number too large for XnView. Yes, it seems that the number is too large for XnView. :( Max 32-bit integer is 4294967295 so all your YYYYMMDD### dates will be too large. If you can use just two digits (##) for the duplicate, then he number is small enough. Applic...

XnView process remains in memory if you try to run XnView with non-existing slide file. When you try any other file type XnView quits after showing the 'Error opening the file <C:\somefile.ext>' message. Re: XnView Tweak UI

2ckv Wow. How did I miss this post? I have been planning to write this sort of thing since the folder colors made it to the ini. Even built a project plan and UI design. But now I don't have to! Thank you for this! Suggestion: tool tips for the various more obscure options. Thanks again! Thanks. To...

Re: XnView Tweak UI

First of all, thanks for this great tool. Finally, I can complete my customization of XnView! I do have one problem, though. If I change the color (doesn't matter what color) of the toolbar (browser and view mode) I lose some of my icons. The ones that disappear are only those where the "Command" a...

Re: Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird (opensource freeware)

Apparently, Firefox 3.6 will be released today. You can already get it form Mozilla ftp server if you really want to. Spite of the personas theme thing there's not much new in 3.6. There's a new "out of date plugin" alert thingy, Firefox startup should be faster and javascript performance should be ...

Re: XnView on removable drive - drive's contextual menu

XnView placed on a USB drive or an optical media. Drive has autorun.inf at its root. autorun file has to generate some options in the drive's contextual menu. These contextual menu positions lead to xnview invocation with the -ini and -slide parameters. How should the autorun syntax look? It has to...
