Downloading photos on Win 7

Post by berniebee »

Hi
Not sure if this is the right forum or not but would like help on using XnView to download photos from my camera.
I was using Win XP and found the download wizard great.
However the donload function on Win 7 is awful and i am looking for an alternative were I can choose the photos I want to down load.
If Xbnview has this function how do you use it, if not can i be pointed in the right direction.
thanks

Have you tried XnView Media Detector (XnViewMediaDetector.exe)?

I have downloaded it as the full package from the link you gave me.
Selected "media detector"as on of the components but it is not showing in Win 7 or as a option when I plug in my camera.

I am using Win 7.

Thanks

Is the Add XnView to applications for USB events (camera, scan, ...) setting (Tools » Options... » System integration » Integration) activated?

Currently, I have to manually start it whenever I load a memory (SD, CF, etc.) card on a USB-attached reader.
I'm really sorry, i'm very busy currently. I'll try to work on MediaDetector for next release of XnView

Sorry you have confused me here.
I think you are saying that Media director is a work in progress and you will work on it when you have time ?

All I want to do is plug my camera in to the computer and download my photos :)

Well, XnView should show up in the AutoPlay dialog box, but you have to activate the setting mentioned in my previous post.

I'm just an ordinary user like you. Pierre is the developer of XnView.
