Comment vs. Description
What is the difference between "Edit Comment" and "Describe" and which field is more portable to other platforms (such as Facebook, PhotoBucket, etc.)?

Re: Comment vs. Description
'Edit Comment' is to edit the embedded jpeg comment.JimSpy wrote:What is the difference between "Edit Comment" and "Describe" and which field is more portable to other platforms (such as Facebook, PhotoBucket, etc.)?
'Describe' adds a descript.ion file in the folder with the description of files.
I.e. you can add a description to any filetype whereas comments are available in JPEG files, only. The JPEG comment is embedded in the JPEG file; when sending the JPEG file around the embedded JPEG comment is also sent.

Comment is embedded in the file (PNG & JPEG)
IPTC is perhaps more universal
