XnView: MP 1.9.1 - 64 bit
OS: Linux / 64bit (Debian 12 with LXDE)
After selecting the RAW files to be converted, for example to JPEG, and applying the “Convert to series” command, the preview of the photo is noticeably different from the original one, as it is overexposed, and brightness, color temperature, contrast, saturation, etc... are changed.
All this happens without having chosen and used any corrective action.
Effect: The files thus converted, are altered from the originals, so the usefulness of serial conversion is lost, since it is necessary to use the “export” function, which, however, converts only one at a time. And, if I have 1345 to convert?
To reproduce:
1. Select several RAW files;
2. Apply the “Convert to series” command;
3. Choose the “actions” tab and make sure none is used;
3. Watch the preview of the converted file (or convert!) and compare it with the original, using the “show original” button.
Current behavior (bug): alteration of exposure parameters, brightness, color temperature, contrast, saturation, etc...: bug:
Expected behavior: no difference of the described parameters between the RAW file and the one converted to a different format, without having used any corrective “action”
1.9.1: “Convert to series” alters the characteristics of photos without any ‘action’ selection selected

check 'Camera RAW' settings in Settings>Formats>Read
by default, its:
However, there is an issue
Preview in Batch convert continue to use Full(or Half size) when 'Embedded preview' is selected for Convert in Settings
test image: L1000109.DNG (67Mb)
by default, its:
- for Viewing
- Embedded preview (JPEG)
- for Converting
- Full size
- some adjustments from 'Full/Half size rendering group'

Preview in Batch convert continue to use Full(or Half size) when 'Embedded preview' is selected for Convert in Settings

but you have RAWFlag that should alter this behavior (like in FastStone)xnview wrote: Mon Jun 09, 2025 7:49 amBatch convert needs to use the 'full size' if used for convertuser0 wrote: Fri Jun 06, 2025 4:26 pm Preview in Batch convert continue to use Full(or Half size) when 'Embedded preview' is selected for Convert in Settings

In fact, my problem has not been solved, despite your advice.
Anyway, thank you.
I will go back to using RawTherapee which does not have this defect. It is just slower.

Re: 1.9.1: “Convert to series” alters the characteristics of photos without any ‘action’ selection selected
I'm returning to this topic because, as I said, I haven't solved the problem.
To clarify it better, I'm attaching two screenshots showing how I see the files.
Without making any changes, but only with the conversion, the files are altered in a disastrous way.
If I start the conversion, the resulting files are as seen in the conversion preview. This happens with all files.
If, on the other hand, I use the “export” function, the converted file is identical to the original.
I cannot use “export” if I have to convert hundreds of files from RAW to JPEG.
I am also attaching the “Formats - Reading” configuration. I should point out that I have tried all possible combinations, but the (terrible) result remains the same.
With RawTherapee, this does not happen, so I can rule out problems with other software (operating system, drivers, etc.) or hardware.
It is a problem caused by XnView.
I am using version 1.9.3 64-bit Linux (Debian 12) with files produced by Nikon D750, D850, or Z7ii.
Why?
