I agree: round + large spacing doesn't look good... :(
I agree too.

Sooorrryy... but not much... :( ...it doesn't look professional that way. It looks cleaner with sharp corners.

These options needn't to be shown. I don't see any disadvantages if disabling them, current PCs are fast enough to handle this
I don't agree: some people use XnView on quite old PCs with large images -> XnView should still be able to run with low RAM needs.

BUT a single 'Buffer' option would be better, following the mechanism described here (not for 1.90: should be discussed/detailled more).

More cleaning in 'GENERAL'...

Remove 'Use all formats available'.

Remove 'Use EXIF DPI information if exists'
DPI is only used when printing with 'DPI' layout, ie: when actual size will be determined by DPI and not by you (it is probably hardly used). This additional option should be removed, IMHO: use Header DPI first, then EXIF DPI... is enough (one can still change DPI values when necessary).

Remove 'Current'? (in Startup directory)
This 'current' doesn't make sense when considering XnView alone. The only use is when XnView is launched from another application, as you can read here (a Total Commander Button, for example). My opinion is that this specific situation should be handled by the Host application (ie: TC button parameters, as explained here) and not as an option of XnView.

...in 'INTERFACE':

Remove 'Maximize View when Open' (ie: maximize newly opened window within XnView)
I don't see much reason for this option: the Maximize/Restore state of windows doesn't change -> you can get the same thing by clicking once on 'Maximize' and you are done.

Based on the number of questions like "how to show images only", "how not to show html/mht"... it is better to put 'Items displayed' panel on first in current Browser>File List (+rename 'File list' to 'Items displayed' in the tree).
