B3: Tagging does not work in "normal" Fullscreen

Post by helmut »

Tagging and untagging by pressing "T" works in the direct fullscreen (aka Fullscreen light), but not in the indirect fullscreen. Also the tag state is not shown at all.

To reproduce:
1. Activate tagging (View > Tags > Show tag box)
2. Tag a file by clicking on the checkbox shown in the top left corner of the thumbnail.
3. Open the file with "Tools > Open".
4. Switch to fullscreen with "View > Fullscreen"
--> The tag box is not checked :bug:
5. Press "T" to tag the current image
--> The tag box is still not checked :bug:

Yes, because we work in viewer, so there no tags

I don't accept your answer: There must be no difference between fullscreen and fullscreen, otherwise people will be confused.

In fullscreen edit mode, you have crop for example, in fullscreen browser mode you have tag.

I don't like those differences in fullscreen modes at all. If you want to confuse users - that's the way you do it. Wasn't there once an common agreement that both fullscreen modes must work the same way (see topic "1.80: Two Fullscreen modes?". There might be technical reasons, yes, but users don't care and just want a simple to use application which works consistently. The more difference in fullscreen modes are the more confusing it will be.

Ok, i'll add it but i can't now. And there is some problem, you can open 2 view of the same file, these view are not linked with browser... So if you tag one view, what happened to the other... Not easy...

I hope you understand the importance of this issue. (I do understand that it's technically not so easy and hope that technically there will be one fullscreen one day).

But this should really be taken care of for next version after 1.90. My own view so far is explained here.
About synchronisation of various opened views, well... they could be synchronised? :P

Meanwhile, I think this is a bug:
4. The tag box is not checked (in Viewer mode)
...and confirm it with Beta 5.

Still not fixed in Beta 6: a tagged image will show no [X] in Viewer.
