If you have:
picture 2000x2000 px, 300 dpi
So the printed rectangle will have a size of 6.7x6.7 inches

If the file has a resolution, e.g. 2000 pixel total with 400 DPI, and the printer has 600 DPI - will it be. ...

2000/400 = 5 inch?

or

2000/600= 3,33 inch?

The dpi of printer will only be used to resize picture, but the printed area will be the same (5 inches)
