"File Association" - no chance to cancel

Post by Peter2 »

Maybe it is already discussed, but using the buttons for files associations (Menu Options) set the associations immediately. The "Cancel button" does not cancel these settings - and this can cause bad surprises :?

Any ideas?

Mmmmmmh ... :?
In German translation it is translated with "None" which seem to be correct. IMHO there is no "Restoring", but there is an "unselecting of all". This is not a solution for a user who is playing around, pressing any button in the options and thinks "No problem, I will not press OK".

Or is it really a "restoring"? Then the German translation and the behaviour of the selection is confusing ....

'Restore all' removed xnview association, and try to use previous association (if possible)

Is this the current feature or an idea for improvement?

This backup/restore is already implemented.

Code: Select all

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\.wbz]
@="XnView.Image"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\.wbz\XnView.bak]
@="wbzfile"

IMO it should be better named to "Remove all associations" which would do the same restore :D - much more clearer to me as user, at least in English anyway.
