Suggestion
format_jpeg_write_settings_order.png
  • unify order of JPEG write settings


    Note: technically correct order is shown below, but this is not required for the user interface
    Step Stage Purpose
    Subsampling Pre-processing Reduces color data resolution
    Smoothing Pre-processing Filters noise to improve compressibility
    DCT Transformation Converts pixels to frequency coefficients
    Huffman Optimization Entropy Coding Creates custom tables for better compression
    Progressive Formatting Reorders data for multi-pass loading
