change labels of the Similar files search results
I have looked for but cannot find a way to do this in the settings, I may be missing something. Can the labels in the Find similar files search results window be changed? I would like to add some EXIF fields like Date created, Date digitized, etc. Thanks.

Re: Unable to Write IPTC in raw files
I think you understand what I am saying correctly. The thing that stands out to me is that the files already have IPTC and XMP fields and data present before being edited in XnView. So, that data could have been written with some other software, or in camera? If this is the case then perhaps it is ...

Re: Unable to Write IPTC in raw files
I downloaded the files, created a copy of one, 2023_05_Acadianna_20 - Copy.RAF and did a quick test.
My setup.
XnView 1.7.2 on MX Linux 23.3 (64bit).
Under Settings/Metadata I have all options unchecked. Create Sidecar Files is unchecked.
I opened the file in XnView MP, good.

Re: proper Base path of files location
I do use the database. Can I move it to a another location? The drive in question is old and only used for temporary project files, all are copies of the originals, so the originals are safe. I am concerned that the drive might fail and the database will go with it.
I am using XnView on Linux.

Re: proper Base path of files location
Thanks for the quick reply.
I read a little about it in other posts but I don't grasp the ramifications of making changes. So, if I delete the Base path of files entry everything will continue to work? I am worried about losing the database.

proper Base path of files location
I think that the Base path of files is wrong in my XnView MP Linux setup. The Base path is set to a spare drive which is only used for temporary project files. I have used XnView MP to view the files on that drive but it holds no permanent directory of files. This is likely a problem that I created ...

Re: Properties icon in browser view not woring on Linux.
The properties Icon is now missing from the browser toolbar and is no longer available in the Settings/Interface/ToolBar/Browser option window.
I have confirmed this on my desktop and laptop, both running MX Linux 23.3 KDE (Debian based), fully updated.

Add to Album context menu option.
Would it be possible to add a context menu option to ad a photo, or a selection of photos, to an Album. I realize that photos can be dragged, but I think a context menu option would be helpful. The album feature is not very discoverable, at least it wasn't for me, but it is a great feature.

Change to the Film Strip layouts.
I am experimenting with a Film Strip layout to be use for rapidly moving through new images to remove the bad ones and quickly assign preliminary ratings. I would like to move the Properties panel from the Film Strip to relocate it while leaving the Film Strip separate. I can accomplish this in the ...

Re: Switch between Properties and Preview tabs
I believe that the Preview tab can be dragged out of the Info panel and placed either above or below it. The Preview would now be viewable all the time. It can also be placed in many other locations in the layout like say the left side of the screen. Once you have it placed where you want it you can ...

I am willing but don't know how, I am a gui only guy most of the time. If you could provide some instruction or a link to instructions I will do it.
