Re: Delete action doesn't delete file?

2+ years later, I have the same problem with XnViewMP 0.83 on Ubuntu - if Use Recycle Bin is enabled, deletion does nothing, silently. I spent a good half hour cleaning up a large directory of pictures, only to find out none were deleted.

The files were on an NTFS partition, if that helps ...

Crash within 5 minutes after installing

I've just installed the latest 64-bit DEB, and wanted to remove the GPS information from one JPG.

Loaded the image, went to File -> Format settings -> Write -> JPEG, unchecked "Keep EXIF", saved as. The image was in a folder with less than 50 files.

XNView MP didn't show the new image, then its ...

[DOS] opening too many images with external program

I was viewing the images in a folder and had them all selected (426 images) in order to perform a batch operation. Before performing the batch operation, I wanted to open one of the images in an external viewer, to double-check some EXIF value. So I right click that image, and clicked Open With ...

Re: what is XnView MP?!

After one year, again,

WHAT IS XnViewMP ?!

I went to the main page to download XnView, and saw XnViewMP. WHAT IS IT?

Please say on xnview.com what XnViewMP is, and how it's different from XnView.

"Rebuild thumbnails" doesn't do anything.

An existing thumbnail can also be rebuilt or reoriented without other program:
Browser menu>Edit>Metadata>Recreate EXIF thumbnail
(lossless)
(saving)

I have a similar problem: thumbnails not being rotated, while the image is. This happened after running PTLens on the image.

I right clicked the ...

Re: what is XnView MP?!

You means the difference between XnView & XnViewMP?

That would be useful too.

What I see right now on the main page is:

XnView (v1.97/1.70) is an efficient multimedia viewer, browser and converter.

XnViewMP beta 0.21 for MacOSX/Linux/Windows

XnView Pocket (v1.40) is an efficient image viewer ...

what is XnView MP?!

This may seem like a stupid question, but for a new user who goes to http://www.xnview.com/en/index.html , it's not clear at all what "XnView MP" is. I had to navigate around the forums for a few minutes until I figured out it what it meant.

Please, on the main page, add a brief description of what ...

Inconsistent shortcut key for rating

There are lots of threads on shortcut keys, but this one seems closer to the problem I'm trying to describe:

In the browser view, Ctrl+Numpad keys rates a picture. For example, Ctrl+3 rates it 3 stars. In the image view, however, Ctrl+3 does some color transformation (I'm not sure what... I can't ...

This beta detects 1.95.4 as a newer version

Just installed the beta and was happy to see the rotation being applied to the image only after the user stops typing.

Also noticed that it detects 1.95.4 as a newer version. Is this normal?

Ctrl+A in the IPTC Caption text area

I often want to select the entire Caption from the "Edit IPTC data" dialog, but right now I have to press Home, Shift+End. Ctrl+A would be great.

Rotate after typing stops: don't rotate as I type

In the Rotate dialog, if "Apply to image" is checked, XnView will rotate as I type. If I type "1.75", it will rotate for "1", then "1." then "1.7" then finally "1.75".

It would be great if rotation happened after some delay (e.g. 0.3s) since the last character typed in the angle edit box.

HTH,
Dan ...

Please list version number on the history page

Today XnView notified me that the new version was released.

I went to http://pagesperso-orange.fr/pierre.g/xnview/enhistory.html to find out what the changes were, but I can't tell from that page which version those changes appeared in. Maybe it's the last version, but what about users who haven't ...

Bump!

+1 for high-quality rotation, and please make "smooth" checked by default in the Rotation dialog box. The first time I used Rotation in XnView, I thought "OK, this is probably be as good as in Irfan", and after saving the image, I noticed the jigsaw effect :(
