in browser mode with a pre-defined thumbnailsize of 384x288
and of course some other modes, there is a lot of waste of space.

There is another very annoying issue with tooltips: if they appear near the bottom, they can stay in front when you make the Windows Taskbar appear (-> can't select some application tabs, tooltray can be hidden, etc...) and they stay in front for a while even if you switch to another application by ...

With multiple tabs open, 'go to next image when deleting current' sometimes does not work.

Renaming a file should not move the thumb in browser mode

in browser mode.
i rename a file and it gets sorted automaticly in the right place.
question: how can i turn this off?
my settings
-browser
[ ] update treeview when refresh
-file list
[ ] auto refresh
[ ] automaticly select new files

i'd like to suggest the following feature:
i often have to move files from a folder to its subfolder, or to a new subfolder which i name after the filenames i move into that new created subfolder.
now in XnView, i have to select all the files i need,

hi there,
i reccognize that these little tooltips are a way to sticky as they should be. ;-}
in browser mode (inside a folder with a lot of pics, because scrolling is to be tested)
1)
place the cursor over a thumb and a tooltip apears.
now scroll somewhere up/down and see, that tooltip isnt ...

in browser mode, the user can rotate a pic via the context menu or the shortcuts.
when viewing a pic (fullscreen in my case) not.
i suggest to let the user rotate a pic in every viewing mode, as a new feature :-)

in browser-mode, try to browse into a folder with a lot of pics in it and which is not in the cache. (so building the thumbs takes longer, because time this is needed for this testcase)
as the thumbs are generated,
press STRG-A to select all files
press F2 to rename all the files

folderlist doesnt update
another appropriate issue:
if i choose an item of the last-folders-list, i would suppose, the folder-list would update to that new location.
(dunno, if this is a feature request, or a bug)

hello all,
in browser mode
pressing ALT+M to move or ALT+C to copy a file
the list of recent folders has 8 entries, but
using the cursor-keys to move between the entries
does not work correctly.
scrolling with the cursor-keys will result in showing only the two last entries
on my machine of course ...

a small but important issue (for me):
if in browser-mode and clicking on a thumb, pressing f2 to rename that file, and then pressing the home- or pos1-key to go to the first char in the filename - and the filename has a (shown) linebreak - then the cursor doesnt go where i wish the cursor ...
