Request for a Zoom to Selection (95%)

Post by dosdan »

I'd like to suggest either a "Zoom to Selection" or "Zoom to Selection (x%)" control. The main use I see of this is to check the accuracy of the current selection, so having the selection covering 80%, 90% or 95% of the window would be helpful. It should be hot-keyed. Perhaps "/" or "\"

:) Hello !

• That's interesting, I support !
- However, about a hot-key the slash “/” is already used as Fill the window, and the back slash “\” is unusable with non-English keyboards, because i.e. here it isn't a single key, it needs (a) modifier¦s like :
Ctrl+Alt+8 Alpha, or AltGr+8 Alpha… :|

:) Hello !
• If I got dosdan alright, the goal is to enlarge the selection by zooming in it; he proposes a key (for instance), but from my point of view, a command for a bistable button to set the function, then the set options of zoom should be handy to use it.
- Example : I draw a selection roughly, click the button¦press the key then to adjust it fine using my common way (here, the + and - keys of the numeric pad), using too the configured zoom step…
- I think that the dosdan's proposal enhanced to zoom in and zoom out would add a good mark to the programme…
