I did, and yes, both the Estimated Quality and the Histogram showed. But as soon as I started modifying the layout using the "Free" menu item, both disappeared again, not to be seen again until I delete XnView.ini again...

Ok, Judging from your question. I'm gonna wipe it from the system and re-install.
Perhaps I left some traces behind the first time I tried.

I'm not sure if this is by design, or something on my end. But since I think the last 2 or 3 updates, I no longer have an 'Estimated Quality' in the Info panel 'Properties' for JPG's.

The panel itself seems to have issues to. There used to be a Histogram panel which is now MIA.

As the next poster indicated, they are indeed not the same thing.


XnView Classic and MP support Photoshop-compatible filters ( .8bf ). .8bi OTOH are file format plug-ins .

XnView MP Windows: Version 1.5.0 64bits (Jul 10 2023)
OS: Windows 64bit

When pressing tab to go to the next image (like in Windows Explorer), instead XnViewMP goes to the next row (e.g. like when pressing arrow down)

Effect: Irritation because the behaviour is contradictory to the regular Windows ...

Ok, I give up, I've tried three ways from Sunday,
I can add the folder through Effect > Adobe Photoshop Plugin... > Configure, but after clicking OK, the dialog I return to stays blank...
So next I added a 8bf folder like exists for XNview, copied the plugin folder into it, but no go there either ...

Currently, it seems you can only set playing video in looping mode as a global option. So either no video plays looped or all of them.
Please add a button control to the viewer, so I can activate looping on a per-video basis
